Integrating your Cisco Meraki switches with Cisco Emergency Responder (CER) is easy. You'll find the process similar to your Cisco switches, with the limits of the single community string in the Meraki dashboard being the most important to consider.
The Process
Adding a Meraki switch to CER requires: verifying your Meraki switch is supported, creating the SNMP string in the Meraki dashboard, adding the SNMP string to the CER admin portal, adding the switch to CER, and running the switch update.
Supported Meraki Switches
Check the compatibility of your Meraki switch with supported models in the Cisco Emergency Responder Release Notes for your CER version.
Creating the SNMP String
Login to your Meraki Dashboard and navigate to the Network containing the switches. Click Network-wide, then General, scroll to the Reporting section, enable SNMP version 2c, and set the community string. Note: You can only define one SNMP community string in the Meraki dashboard.
Add the SNMP String to CER
In CER Administration, navigate to Phone Tracking, click SNMP v2 Settings. You can enter a community string per switch IP address, use wildcards for a subnet, or wildcard each octet to cover all switch devices.
Add the Switch to CER
Enter the IP address of every switch using the administration interface, or use the bulk import feature. Navigate to Phone Tracking – LAN Switch Details, enter the IP address, add a description, and click Insert.
Run the Switch Update
Navigate to Phone Tracking and click Run Switch-port & Phone Update. Your Meraki switch should now appear in CER.
